When children ride bicycles without helmets, the risk of brain injury increases dramatically. According to the National Fire Protection Association, more than 236,000 children were injured in bicycle accidents in 2007, and brain injuries were the leading cause of death from bicycle accidents.  In non-fatal brain injuries, the brain injury can last a lifetime.

Health Touch Chiropractic is assisting Tigard Police Services by serving as a donation center for lightly used or new bicycle helmets. When an officer stops a child who is riding without a bicycle helmet, they give the child a helmet.

Help us prevent more brain injuries in children! You can donate helmets at Health Touch and we will forward them to Tigard Police Services. You can also make cash donations to this program, and helmets will be purchased using any donated funds.

We also have programs within our office to assist our community toward health that are linked with this community service. Ask our front office about donating to this program and having the opportunity to learn more about your health!
